Developing a Better Ranking System

Well since every gaming project i have always has a Ranking system. I decided to step above the normal Ranking system where people/players are ranked by how much level they gained since they created the character.

The new system would deliver a more precise measurement of how much the player gained in a Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Yearly time frame.

This will give birth to new Ranking Categories, such as;

• Top Players Today, a ranking for how much Level and Resets the character has gained today.
• Top Player this Week, like above but for an entire week.
• and so on for Monthly Rankings and Yearly Rankings.

Benefits for this New Ranking System

• Players can now directly see their hard work on a daily basis, rather than looking up Large ranking data that they can only hope to catch up in year or so. Imagine a New player with 0 Resets trying to catch a player with 400+ resets. But with this new system he can take pride in himself of how much he has accomplished.
• More Events ideas like giving an Award to the Top Player of the day, month or year. Use your imagination.
• This can be used in all type of games... i have already tested in Mu Online, and in theory should work for any kind of games.

Since I'm still in the process of gather data, ( more like waiting what going to happen )... i can't show you just yet. But as soon as i get enough data i will have a link ready.

The ranking is very simple. It a Header and footer toolbars

• Header toolbar has Overall, Day, Week, and Month Links to show the right data.
• Footer toolbar has Search, forward & back buttons, and a page identifier.

The Pink Text ( Resets: 221 (+12) ) signifies the amount gained in the selected time frame, whether it may be a week, a day, or even a month.
